Pantone has issued their Fashion Color Report for autumn 2013, and now that autumn is on its way, this is a good time to consider which beads to choose for making a few up-to-date pieces of jewellery.
Below are the colours that Pantone has selected for autumn 2013, along with a few ideas for beads in matching shades.
Emerald – self-explanatory – a rich, medium green
Linden Green – light olive green with a hint of yellow
Mykonos Blue – medium denim blue, verging on cobalt
Sodalite Gemstone Chip Beads 8-12mm
Acai – a true purple of the aubergine (eggplant) variety
Purple Matte Druzy Agate Round Gemstone Beads 14mm
Purple Dyed Aqua-Terra Jasper Nugget Gemstone Beads 14x18mm
Samba – a vibrant red; put those dancing shoes on!
Koi – the shimmering orange of a Japanese ornamental fish
Autumn Dyed Aqua-Terra Jasper Round Gemstone Beads 12mm
Deep Lichen Green – greyish olive; this colour is a difficult one for beads, as they mostly wind up being too grey or too olive. Nevertheless, I found a few that I think work well for Pantone’s concept
Vivacious – a lively rose/fuchsia
11-4210 Duracoat Galvanized Hot Pink - Miyuki 11/0 Seed Beads
Carafe – an elegant bronze-ish brown
Sandy Beige Plated Matte Druzy Agate Round Gemstone Beads 14mm
Turbulence – dark, cool grey
Smoke Grey Matte Druzy Agate Round Gemstone Beads 14mm
These are just a few of the beads we have that correspond to Pantone's colour forecast. In my next blog post, I'll be showing photos from various designers using the Pantone colour combinations in their autumn collections. I will also add a few suggestions of my own.
